Hello, my name is Lou! I am in my twenties, and I’m a special education teacher for Kindergarten – 2nd grade children with Autism. It’s a job that I sort of fell into and then fell in love with. My students are little rays of sunshine with great personalities and they make me laugh every day.
I love my life, as hectic as it seems sometimes. I have a wonderful boyfriend, a supportive and loving family, and beautiful friends. I love food: eating it, cooking it, reading about it, researching it, watching it on television, and seeking it out in fun, new places.
This site is not solely a place to find recipes or my latest eats, but a place to discover the things that put the zest into my life: running, family, friends, and travel, to name a few. I strive to maintain a healthy and balanced lifestyle, but just like anyone else, I have had my slip-ups in the past. I work hard at maintaining a positive mental attitude about food, myself, and my daily activities, and my goal is to find a balance between work and play, pastries and vegetables! There’s a place in my heart and stomach for both!!
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you enjoy what you see!
-Lou
I don’t know how to “follow” your blog…help!
Cute pictures 🙂 I’ll be visiting Italy and France this month and these pictures just made me more excited than I already am 😀 Looking forward to reading your blog
You are sucha gorgeous girl inside and out! And I just lovel lovelovleolove (sorry about that) that you work with children who have autism! I think it’s such a sacrificial and loving position you have there. I used to work with an elem. student with autism and it was probably one of the best experiences in my life, although we had our “crazy moments”, as I like to call ’em. I truly miss him! And omgshhh Italy and Paris! My husband and I would love to go someday. 😀
Wow! Those were such wonderful things you said! Thank you so much!! My students are definitely a challenge, but I found myself in tears on the last day of school because I’m going to miss them so much.
