What you’ve missed…

26 Jul

Hi there. Remember me?

It’s been over a year since my last post and I’ve thought a lot about whether or not to start this blog up again. It’s been on my mind daily for the past month or so, and my final decision was…YES. This is something that I’d like to keep doing, so without further ado, here I am!

I need to catch you up on what you’ve missed in the past year. There’s been a lot of changes in my life, so let’s dive right in.

On April 27th, 2012, I got ENGAGED!!!

It was a complete surprise and I was thrilled. He took me to my favorite spot overlooking the ocean. There were lots of tears, hugs, kisses, and smiles. (And the ring is gorgeous. It belonged to his Grandmother.)

About 6 months later, we were married!

We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect wedding with our family and friends. Everyone had a blast! After the wedding, we spent a couple of nights in Encinitas, CA. We put off our real honeymoon until just a few weeks ago. I was teaching when we got married, and we decided to wait until summer vacation to take a trip up to San Fransisco and Napa Valley.

On the career front, I taught for two years in an Autism Focus class. While it was a great experience, I’ve decided not to return to that position next year. I’m applying to some regular education elementary positions and I’m excited to see what the future holds!

Because I’m on summer vacation, I’ve had a lot of time to cook and bake! Travis and I have been enjoying some great dinners and desserts!

I also started a vegetable and herb garden. I have basil, thyme, rosemary, chives, and two types of tomatoes!

That pretty much catches you up! Now that I’ve taken the leap to start Zestful Lou up again, I will be sure to write up my recipes and snap some more photos!

I hope I still have some readers out there and please feel free to leave any comments or questions below!

Well, I must say that you have inspired me. I too, have failed to post in over 18 months, but it has been nagging me lately to start up again. Upon seeing this post (from a blog I very much enjoyed), I decided to start up again also. Welcome back! Congratulations on your wedding! And thank you for the little nudge…I needed it.

I contemplated deleting the blog altogether, but every time I went to do it, I just couldn’t. I knew that I wanted to get back to it someday and I’m so happy I finally did. Best of luck to you!
